Projects and Programs

The MRA and Capital Bank are sponsoring the First Annual Midtown Banner Art Contest. Join us for a kick-off event March 14th at Vita Vite for the announcing of the contest finalists. The Winner Award is a $1000 cash prize. The MRA currently places banners in 26 locations of Midtown along St. Albans Road, Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road. Our current design is a simple graphic with the words Midtown Raleigh diagonally across a multi-colored background. Upon the completion of the Banner Art Contest, the winning design will be printed on banners and hung in place of the current banners. There is a small $10 submission fee per artist. (This same type of banner art contest was done about 10 years ago along Blount Street by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance). For complete details click here.

Transformative Corridor Plan

Keeping a community vibrant means good stewardship of the amenities and infrastructure that makes up your foundation. The Alliance, working with community and elected leaders, identified several key projects and have been working to enhance Midtown thru their implementation.
The Alliance benefits greatly and is appreciative for the strategic partnerships we hold with staff at the City of Raleigh, Wake County, GoTriangle, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Transportation Alliance, and many others. These partnerships are critical  to reaching our collective community goals.
The projects fall into the categories of Transportation and Transit (Mobility) planning; establishing a graphic identity for Midtown; establishing a public art program for Midtown; and strengthening Midtown's character thru community service.
