In keeping with our organization's mission to serve the community and give back, the Midtown Raleigh Alliance holds fundraisers and also awards scholarships to deserving Sanderson High School Seniors.  Here are some of the events and winners from the past:

2023: Midtown Community Hero Scholarship

​

We awarded our 5th Annual Midtown Community Hero Scholarship this year to two more outstanding SHS seniors. John Soter O'Neil and Aaron Ng both received a $1500 scholarship!

2022: Midtown Community Hero Scholarship

​

We awarded our Annual Midtown Community Hero Scholarship this year to two extraordinary Sanderson High School seniors. We awarded Aubrey Loftis the $1500 scholarship and Nayla Seyda the $1000 scholarship!

2021: Midtown Community Hero Scholarship

​

We awarded our Annual Midtown Community Hero Scholarship this year to two extraordinary Sanderson High School seniors. We awarded Gwen Hollingsworth the $1500 scholarship and Avery Risinger the $1000 scholarship!

2019: Midtown Community Hero Scholarship

​

We awarded our first Annual Midtown Community Hero Scholarship this year to a very deserving Sanderson High School senior. Our hope is to help support future leaders from Midtown Raleigh as they move on to the next phase of their education. We awarded Genevieve Fortier a $1500 scholarship on May 8th!

2017: Midtown Pumpkin Palooza

​

Our fall festival returned October 21st and benefited Teen Cancer America! Presented by First Citizens Bank and  many sponsors, this event was a huge success raising over $14,000.  Many of the activities returned including the Chili Cook Off, Canine Costume Contest, KidZone and Scavenger Hunt. We also added live music and food trucks!

With so much fun and success, Pumpkin Palooza has become our annual fundraiser each year!

2020: Midtown Community Hero Scholarship

​

We awarded our Annual Midtown Community Hero Scholarship this year to two very deserving Sanderson High School seniors. We awarded Claire Spickard the $1500 scholarship and Jessica Tan the $1000 scholarship!

2018: 3rd Annual Midtown Pumpkin Palooza

​

Our fall festival returned October 21st and benefited Holt Brothers Foundation! Presented by Captrust Bank and  many sponsors, this event was another great success.  Many of the activities returned including the Chili Cook Off, Canine Costume Contest, KidZone and live music. This year we also added the Terrence & Torry's Tailgate Zone with a Sports Trivia Challenge and a Bubbly Bar by The Capital Grille!

2016: Midtown Pumpkin Palooza

​

A huge array of activities including a high-tech scavenger hunt, kidzone, chili cook-off, beer garden and canine costume contest. Presented by Kane Residential with help from Smitih Debnam, SunTrust, Hilton North Raleigh/Midtown and dozens of others, the Pumpkin Palooza has been our most successful fundraiser to date!

Proceeds went to Duke Childrens of Wake County

2014: Get Moving Midtown

​

A first of it's kind 100-Minute Fitness challenge drew hundreds of health-focused midtowners to this fun afternoon. Guest instructors from Pulse Pilates, Empower Personalized Fitness, Burn Athletics, Pure Barre and Camp Gladiator each conducted sessions for the attendees! Guests were also treated to healthy foods, free massages, a vendor fair and even some healthy cooking demonstrations. Presented by Allister and the MRA, this event challenged everyone to "Get Moving Midtown!" check our the short video recap.

Proceeds went to Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County

2015: Get Moving Midtown with  North Hills 5k

​

In keeping with our commitment to a healthy lifestyle, the Alliance partnered with Trinity Baptist Church for their 5k run, part of the Second Empire Grand Prix race series. MRA added senior and kids fitness elements to this highly successful community run!

Proceeds went to North Raleigh Ministries BackPack Buddies

2013: Barks and Rec

​

Presented by Woofgang Bakery and the MRA, this family fun day was all about Fido ~ with canine contests, training demonstrations and pet-specialty service vendors! Guests were treated to beautiful fall day along with music, food trucks and prizes! Thanks to all our sponsors, partners and volunteers!
